Default I can't check CELs.

I read the write-up on how to do it and what not, so I found that wire (the one with the 2 prongs, not 3) and trough and jammed a paperclip in there. I turn my ignition to the accesorries, my CEL goes out (like normal) and my SRS light starts flashing. Any ideas?

Was the CEL on while driving before you jumpered the connector? The flashing SRS light means you jumpered it right, and that it's in diagnostic mode. The CEL will come on solid for a couple seconds, then it'll go out, and then it should flash any codes (if there are any stored).

If it's not flashing thats a good thing too. Like said before if there has been a check engine light before it stores the code, when you jump it it will display the code. No code then no problems.
