Default alarm/theif-proof methods?

just curious to know what you guys are using for an alarm system... alarms (brands, etc), killswitches, whatever else. dont have to go into detail, i'm just curious what my options are.

pictures and a write up link are a good addon if you're comfortable.

thanks!

And i put a tazer in my steering wheel hooked up to the ignition switch, if someone gets that ignition to go to anything but off they get 100000 volts in em.
Real ignition is somewhere else
Also made my window washers useful even tho they're shaved... i ran the hoses into the headliner and filled the canister with pepper spray, those get activated the same time as the tazer...

world of pain.

yeh, i did a search on it, couldnt find anything.

i was hoping to start one general thread for ideas, rather than having to look through 100 thousand threads to find some ideas.

and i was being quite serious as well. tazers? scent recognizition? please.

When my car is at home it is in the garage guarded by a fierce basset hound... When it is out somwhere I just have an alarm because the way I look at it is that if the theif wants it they will get it.

Agreed. If they want it...not much will keep em from getting it.

If you are real worried, you can try some of things I have seen done in other posts: Removable steering wheel, fuel cut, remove the ECU before going to bed, starter kill, keep in garage, etc. etc.... or you can just play it smart and get an alarm that is easy to see and don't be dumb. Don't bump your music when going into a parking lot/your neighborhood and anything on the outside that draws attention (wheels, stickers, etc.) will also with say, "steal me".

Alarms work well, parked theives will see the lights flash when you engage it.

Killswitches will make the car impossible to start (assuming you hid it well enough).
here's a link:
http://www.civicland.com/diy/m...shtml

They dont do it to a crx but the process is the same, in a crx you take off the security box.

And as it was said before, make your outside look stock. No stickers, no flashy rims (crx si wheels/GSR's look really nice and stock), if you get coilovers get black, if you upgrade the breakes dont make the color stand out, dont lower too much, no halo/cateye headlights.
Some people also like to do some minor tinting.
Get a sterio with a removable face plate and then cover the deck with either the Honda console cover, or with a custom piece of sheet metal (painted black or w/e) to cover the deck.
Hope that helps

Adopt a pit, train the dog to sleep in your car at night.

I've seen some other companies doing a lojack like device for around $300.. Still a little steep but you can go online and find out where your car is without involving the cops.
