Help with a small enclosure and with lots of bass.
I have a clean 400 watts for bass in 1 ohm mono .5 inch stereo with an Orion HCCA 225 amp. I want a smaller box than my 12s RF HE2 in a 1.5 cubic inch per 12 enclosure. It sound pretty good right now.......but I know I can get more sound with less space maybe 2 10s or even 3 8s? JL Audio? MA audio?
Oh yeah must be dual voice coil to bridge the amp. Dont want to spend more than 100-200 per speaker.

I was thinking about this.....two kicker 8" solobaric squares. That box would be smaaaalllllll!!!

the l7's are a good idea, but if you want to small box them, be ready to put some more power on them.
i had 2 12" l7's (dual 2 ohm vc) and built the enclosure to Kicker specs.
first i tried it with a ZR120 (at 4 ohm mono)=couldnt hear the subs.
then went to a ZR600=barely hearf it
3rd i tried two ZR600's=finally started to get loud
then i eventually went with two memphis ST1000D (at 1 ohm)
retty damn loud
but you know, now i have switched to just one l7 12"
in a 3.5 cubic feet box and a ZR360, and it outdoes the 2 12's!

I have 1 S12L7 in a 3.25 cu ft box with a 200 watts off my PPI PC4800 (for now) and it slams.... Ported box is the best way to go for L7's!!!

Yeah I saw that very same box for the integra spare tire hole.....but I finally decided I cant give up my spare tire. I run over nails probably several times a year and being without a spare when you get a flat is one big headache!
your running 400 watts split between two subs, or 400 watts rms each? If it's 200watts rms to each sub, consider getting a bigger amp.
Best bet , jbl 1200.1 off ebay, it's dirt cheap and provides you with great clean power.
Look into it!
