Little Push-Button Starter Thingy...

I have a quick question. Every once in a while, I get too lazy to get in my car to start it up while working on it and I hook up my little push-button starter thing to the starter. However, every time I use it, i have starting issues for about a day afterwards. It has trouble cranking over, and gradually seems to fix itself. What is going wrong? Anyone had this happen? I'd appreciate some insight. Thanks!

It is a little device you connect between the starter and the battery in place of the ignition wire. You push the button and it connects the circuit just like turning the key would. It allows you to turn the motor over without getting in the car.
sweeet..
how do you cut the engine?
maybe their is a fuel issue thats causing it to hessitate starting afterward.
kinda like flooding a carborated car (sp?)

Well, you know, i've never tried to actually start it with the "thingy." I am always just using it to turn the engine over (dist. cap off)
I'm scared to try and actually start it. I'm not even sure it would work, since the ignition isn't on...(now it's got me thinking)
What my dad was thinking is that the soleniod in the starter is getting in some state that will not allow it to travel correctly...who knows?
I've just confused myself.

haha, i understand now...
but as for the hesitation, i am going to GUESS that your computer probably doesn't like you doing whatever you are doing and goes into a "safe mode" or resets itself... thats my guess... probably very wrong...
