I picked up some aftermarket fog lights for replacements of the stock aux lights and was wondering if I can just use "piggy-back" connectors from the fog lights to the stock wiring? The new lights also have a relay with them, will I have to use this new relay? I am assuming so because the new lights are rated at 12v 50watts and I don't think the stockers are that high. Anybody that has done this before, can you give me any tips? In the end, I want to use my stock light switch instead of the one provided and prefer not to have to run all new wire. Thanks.
Use the harness that came with your fog lights. Use the power wire for the aux lights for your trigger. I doubt the thin *** aux light wiring can handle 50 watts for long.
I would use the factory wire to trigger the relay for the lights and run the main wire for the lights up to the fuse panel and connect it to the battery terminal or something.
You use the factory swith and most of the wiring and dont run anything except for under the hood, cant get much simpler or effective....
