Default ITR gets a new trans

Well, after a month of having the trans just sitting there waiting for me to do something, I finally slapped it in......anyone want to buy a slightly used ITR tranny?

Needs new synchros 3rd and 5th at the minimum, it also pops out of 5th gear, so I'm thinking selector fork, balk ring and possibly bearings. If I were to re use it myself, I'd give it a good rebuild.

Someone offered me $650 for it, but I'd like to get a little more than that.

I'd take the $650 and run. That's a generous offer in my opinion.

yeah dude used itr trannys in good condition go for like 1200-1300 ish

your asking about half that but its gonna take like another 600 bucks to fix, so someone whould rather just buy one that already works for the same price

I disagree with you there, would you rather buy a trans for a premium price in so called "good" condition that you'll have to rebuild anyways, or a trans that you know needs a few things for a very decent price, and rebuild it so you know exactly its condition when it goes on your car?

I'd rebuild it myself, but unfortunately for me, I just don't have the time, but I can afford a new one..so I bought one...

well if you buy from a reputable person, there are many on this board, you whouldnt need to rebuild it, you just buy it and put it in, id rather just buy it for a little more and put it in, instead of buying for cheaper and rebuilding the whole thing but thats just me

Everyone has valid points here. I personally would like the piece of mind of knowing I rebuilt the tranny and it is ok.

As far as your offer of $650, I would take it. With the list of problems I wouldn't pay more than $500 depending on how mush the parts were.

The parts aren't 'mush', in fact I just ran a 13.2 with the trans and drove to and from the strip (2 hour drive)....it just needs synchros and bearings and possibly the other parts I mentioned. It only has 50k miles.

I meant to say how MUCH the parts were. But I would still rather buy yours at the right price than to risk buying from a liar.
