Darkside Sucks
There's this performance shop close to my town. It's called Darkside. This is the place where I got my CAI & exhaust. They completely screwed around with my car. To put my CAI in, they had to move the windshield washer fluid to the other side of the engine bay, now it doesn't work and it's leaking. It took them 7.5 hours just to do that. They didn't even finish the job yet because they still have the exhaust left to go. That's just chilling in my the back of my car. I have to go back tomorrow morning and drop off my car so they can finish. The thing is that they gave me descent prices on the parts and they only charged me $80 installation. But my question is do u think I have a court case against them for moving things around in my engine bay? I don't know what else they moved beside the windshield washer fluid. What pisses me off is that they took so long and they did things w/o my permission. Sorry it's so long but I have to vent.
well the old saying starts "if you want something done right...."
this holds true, and its why i like to do my own work, if i mess something up, its my own fault. Intake-exhaust installation isnt too hard, just find a friend who's done it before.

You should have known they would relocate the windshield washer fluid, it is required to do the AEM CAI install.

You could have done it! Just follow the instructions and take your time.
I would have done the install myself. I have more time than money...
if it's a front mount intake, pay someone to do it but if it's just a short ram, do it yourself, it took me 30 minutes....and isn't a cat-back just a bolt on? if it's just the muffler then go to midas...if it has to be welded on that is.....

It's CAI and it has to go all the way to where the fog lights are. I don't feel like messing w/ it. It's all done now. My exhaust sounds beautiful and I notice the power difference from the intake and exhuast.
The conclusion to the story is that I went back the next day. The guy to my car to Meineke, they put the exhaust on. The job took 1/2 hr, and my car sounds beautiful now. The only thing is the ww. It's wired backwards, to use the front winshield wash, i have to push the rear button, and vice versa. So I got my oil changed yesterday and my mechanic laughed and said to come back to him when i drain my tank and he would fix it.
damn bro, sounds like you went through hell for you car. like all of us do in life to our own cars. as for the intake. omg. you should have just done it yourself. its easy. warm air. cold air. its a easy install. i have installed a grip of stuff on many cars. i have done warm air and cold air intakes on the rsx-s and rsx. cold air intake in a s2ooo, type-R. exhaust, headers, nos set ups, valve covers..lol. yes valve covers, hee i got the jdm red valve cover for mine..lol. its east. just play around.if you mess up its ok, just close your eyes and pretend the parts arent there.hahah. but in all its easy to work on cars. you learn poo poo along the way. thats the best way to learn.
You probably dont know anything about aftermarket performance parts.
First of all, all AEM CAI for RSX need to relocate the windshield fluid....if you read on it, you would have known. People complain about shop's installation, its not the owner's fault, its the people that actually did the work.
$80 is really cheap to install intake and exhaust. I know people spend up to $200 just for installation. If the shop is willing to spend all that time doing installation, then they want to make sure things are done right.
I hate people complain about shops, thats why i do my own installation...so, i dont have to be a whiner.
