Default need help on polishing rims

well, when i purchased my bike, it looked like the previous owner had cleaned up the lips / one side of the swingarm. after some neverdull it started to shine up, but after seeing this gsxr w/ mirror plated lips (it seemed like) at a cruise in, i know i needed more.

my question is, how do i get it to be mirror like? I understand the 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 polish sand paper method, but since the previous owner looks like he did that, how do i get it to really shine? they look a few years old and looks that they took the cheap route as the pictures will show, but any advice to get it really shining? My bike doesn't have a lot goin for it asthetically so i think this would be a nice touch. should i take hte wheeel off and start with a 1500 or somethin? aircraft remover then polish? or just find some really strong polishes? thanks.

here are the pics. they are extremely large pictures, so if you want to see better detail add .orig.jpg to the end of the link and you can really geta good view of what im talking about. thanks for your help

Looks good I guess, maybe it would be easier if you took the wheel off.
