are skunk coilovers decent? got some on a theft recovery I just bought
Heres the deal...
98 civic EX 4dr 5spd
was a theft recovery so they stole/fuct up a bunch of stuff.
The car is pretty much slammed and has coilovers. I was looking at them and it says skunk on the front spring on one of them.
is skunk a good brand? How can I tell the model? How can I tell if the dampening is adjustable?
I am fixing this car up for my girlfriend and she doesn't want a rough or bouncy ride at all. Can this be accomplished with these coilovers? I plan on raising it up an inch or so. Should I just put it on super soft dampening (if adjustable)...
any help appreciated.

skunk is a decent brand, a middle of the line brand, not bad, and not amazing, basically it boils down to you can do a lot worse, but you could also do a lot better, but for the money, you cant do better. The other thing is, for the same amount of money you can do a lot worse.

I am assuming that you have sleeved springs, not full coilovers. They are like ground controls. It's basically good for lowering the car. You need some decent shocks. Any aftermarket suspension modifications you do to your car will not have the same effect as stock. If you want a comfortable ride, I would go back to stock.

this guy was kind of a high end kinda guy based on the other things done to the car. I am assuming he upgraded the shocks as well since they are dampening adjustable under the hood.

middle settings should be fine. drive it around and see it you want it harder or softer. the ride will not be as smooth as stock though

What do the shocks look like? Is there a clicker **** on the rears (located on backside of shock just above lca)
My Skunk2 sleeve coilovers with KYB AGX shocks provide my coupe with a very decent ride with front setting of 3 and rear setting of 5.
