Default Honda Type-R?

yo a friend of mine told me about some guy that imported a Honda ITR from Japan, it was like 98 or something like that for like 12000, so i want to know if:
1. its a good idea to import a car from japan
2. will the aftermarket stuff fit it like if it was Acura
3. is 12000 too much for a ITR '96
thanx

ok ill tell you.... im sure if you have connections and what not you can get an integra, or any japanese car over here, but if you want to make it legal thats another story, i was considering doing this and called up the dmv, they tell you it is really easy and make it sound like all you do is fill out some papers and let them check it over, but from what people going threw the process tell me, you will need to switch over nearly everything to USDM standards, like the lights, body pannels, airbag stuff, emissions stuff and all that neat stuff, in the long run it will be a lot of money, not really worth it sorta deal, thats all im going to type now im going to bed kthanksbi.

Been there done that!!!

1. Yes imo (but hard to do especially registering it...unless you know some one)

2. Yes (the only things that will be different that will be hard to get parts for is the throttle cable, sub frame, and steering rack and all other RHD specific parts)

3. Depends on the shape of the car and if it is registered or not.
