Code 9 - No. 1 Cylinder Position Sensor
It's the third sensor in the dist., and it detects the position of the No. 1 Cylinder, as the base for the Sequential Injection. It can also be located on the camshaft of DOHC engines.
CYP sensor is mounted on the exhaust cam on the ZC.
If the dist. base bearing starts failing, it will heat the sensor(s) up, destroying the magnetism thus causing a code(s). It will lose 10% of it's strenght, each time it is heated up to 170 degrees plus.
In most cases, replacing the distributor is the only alternative. Especially if the bearing has failed.
Honda does don't stock the bearing by itself, but other after-market compaines are said to have one.
If you have problems starting the engine, or drivability after the install check your cam aligment. The seizing bearing might have caused it to jump a tooth/notch or two. From the extra drag due to the bearing failing.

thanx.....the car never got up to temp....I just installed everything and let it all run for about 2 minutes.....started right up........is it safe to drive?.....all of the bearings felt good.....is there anything else I can do.....I haven't timed it yet....do you think jumping the ecu and then timing it might fix this problem....I will double check my TDC on my crank to TDC on the cam but I checked it a ton of times....thanx for responding so quickly...

the engine seems to spin freely when I turn it over with a ratchet.....I used an obd1 to obd 0 dizzy adapter do you think that could have any affect (rywire.....it looked pretty quality)
alright....I checked all of my wiring it is all good.....air fuel ratio of my car is way lean at idle....if I give it any gas it does not rev very well and will bounce aroud from 1-2 k for a little bit then goes back down to normal idle.....I need help

Take a look, it can't hurt.

my first question is: Which ECU jumper harness are you using? (jkobd?)
hmm yeah, the dizzy jumper should be working fine with it then.
Didnt mess with pins c1 or c2 at the CRX's ECU plugs?
If it were a frog jumper harness CKP and CKY wires would need to be switched

lol FROG is what Locash and many other places sell. Ebay O-1 Jumpers are usually FROG.
If you bought a JKOBD harness, you don't need to worry about this.. just adding some info for people searching.

hey when I converted to obd1 I used a new 4 wire O2 sensor.....I just used the 4-wires from the conversion harness. I didn't hook up the original O2 wire that was for the one wire O2 sensor....do you think this would be an issue and should I splice it into my new o2 signal wire?
also since I think my new dizzy might be bad and that is why I am getting a code 9 would it be possible to use my original obd0 dizzy just to see if that is the problem?....
