Cam Seal Leak and Intake Manifold Gasket
What are good indicators that you have a cam seal leak? Also, is this orange little gasket thing part of the intake manifold gasket or do I have to buy it separate? This is on a SOHC head
look around the timing cover. you can tell if the cam seal is leaking.
the orange o-ring is part of thegasket. you have to buy the whole gasket, and the o-ring is included.

The back of the back timing belt cover is somewhat cleaned but the back of the timing belt sprocket/pulley is covered in oil. So I asked. Could it possibly be that the seal on my valve cover isn't so good and it leaked?
ya there could be a tear in the semicircle part of it that goes over the hump, see if its in good condition, and then replace it anyways, it can never hurt
I have sorta the same problem. There's a small bit of oil leaking at the bottom where the pullies are, but none whatsoever at the top near the cam. People say its the oil pump seal.
It could be that the valve cover gasket is bad or it will also leak if its too tight. Also that orange gasket is part of the intake manifold gasket, but when I was bolting on my brothers intake manifold onto his vtec head for his mini me swap I just left if off because it wouldnt stay put while i would try to bolt on the intake manifold and just because I didnt think it was needed. Its been running fine ever since, no vacuum leaks or anything.
