Best CAI for EF Hatch?
I know I'm probably going to get flamed for asking this question, but does anyone know what intake brand actually performs the best? Dyno charts to show the performance? I believe that AEM is the best brand, but I'm not sure what size piping they use, and I've heard that 3" piping works the best. Can anyone tell me what there opinion is on this?
I dunno about dyno charts but AEM is the most well known brand. I would maybe try an ebay knockoff because the performance gain between an AEM and a knockoff isn't going to be huge. Here is a thought...how about an intake with a snail on the other end???
Best bang for the buck intake.

get some 3''inch pvc pipeing dnt get hot like chrome intakes attract heat and its cheaper and get the apexi power filter at the end and u will see some nice gains...!
what motor are you talking about, stock d16 or b16? password jdm has carbon fiber intakes for 150 bucks....gaurenteed 6 whp and 6 lbs or torque something like that...gains were seen on a b16 motor.

God no. PVC piping heats up and emits gases that will destroy your motor. Just get some **** off ebay.

I have an AEM and recommend them to everybody. On the other hand, a customer just ordered an ebay cold air intake ( well short ram ) but its missing main pieces, like the coupling that connects it to the throttle body. One of the reasons why I don't like going with cheap parts, something always goes wrong, rather its a piece missing, fitment issue, or sometimes the totally wrong part/car .

Excellent advice.
I feel the same way but as far as power gains I don't think there is much difference between a generic cai and an aem or other name brand intake.

I agree with this. I don't even think that intakes really make that much of a difference. I can't believe that they make the gains that the manufacturers say they do.

I belive the materials used in the AEM is why it's more money but it keeps the air intake cooler..... I have the new Hybrid AEM 2.75" I belive and my buddie has a e-bay one we drove 1 hour to the track you couldn't touch his it was hot mine was still cool. Just my 0.2 Rob
