does anyone know the difference between a jdm gsr block and the jdm itr block, since the jdm gsr only has the stamp of b18c?

no way man, the type r shortblock is way better then the gsr shortblock. its lighter, more aerodynamic, better oil squirters, the list goes on.

Yeah, you guys didn't know they opened up a whole on the exhaust manifold side of the block that allows air to breeze over the crank. It is like a natural crank scraper. Plus the oil pan is contoured so air flows beautifully off the bottom. At least .4 in the 1320 right there. JDM Hype R is mad crazy.

Seriously that comment is going in my sig. JDM R block is more aerodynamic....lol, lol again, lol one more time.

 

The bare blocks are identical! Same everything! I could not find any difference in the bare b18c1, and the bare b18c5 also. Let me know if anyone has....

LMAO so your car runs low 11's?? Really?? Wow it's funny that I have never heard about your car. Since I know most of the fast cars around this area I figured I would have AT LEAST HEARD of a Type R that makes 400whp and runs the 1/4 mile in the low 11's.

Maybe you wanna meet up so I can check out this car of yours. Like it says in my sig My car is not set up for drag. Bring it to a roadcourse and see if you can REALLY drive your car, even if your car is as fast as you say it is( which I know is bullshit cause it's all in your imagination) you probably can't drive it worth a lick.

That's great, Well if you are gsrmatt then yes I know of your car from Torontostreetracing.com though i don't quite get this account you have as a joke. I guess you have your own special sense of humor . Though I never heard of your car hitting 11.1 I thought it was more in the 11.5 area.

well i know about the pistons and rods and all that, its just that the first time i saw the motor identification number on a b18c jdm gsr the numbers were b18c and nothing else but I think the first time i saw a real jdm type r motor the numbers were b18c and it had an extra pair of japannese numbers running vertically by the c.Its just tha my friend bought a jdm type r hatch from some white guy that doesn't seem to know a lot about motors, but claims that the motor is a type r and the block just has b18c and the tranny isn't even stamped with lsd.might be a fake with a gsr tranny and jdm gsr block with a b16 head and type r intake manifold.what do you guys know and think?

 

JDM GSR (Si-VTEC) engine number will be B18C 1xxxxxx, ITR engine numbers are B18C 2xxxxxx. I'm not saying that this is gospel but from having owned 3 Si-VTECs all with engine numbers starting with 1xxxxxx and my current 96spec starting with 2xxxxxx and having seen a load of other JDM integras and checked this very thing out, it seems to run like that across the board...it may be a good spot to start
