Driving school recommendation?
Looking for a good driving school in California --
I've looked at Skip Barber, and Jim Russel. Both look reasonable -- a bit expensive.
I'm looking for a place that will let me bring my own car and has a good high performance driving course.
I love my ITR, and I'd really like some instruction to help me realize what the car can do.
Any recommendations are appreciated.

I have been pondering this too. Several people have recommended Bobby Bondurant to me, but like you I too do not want to go outside of California, and that school is unfortunately in Arizona.

Check and see if NASA runs HPDS out there. Good place to start in your ITR. Come over to the Competition Forum and ask, you can get a lot more help there.
I have found local NASA events to be the best place. Cheap, and most of the teachers have had professional experience racing. Best school in my opinion.
I took the Bondurant course. It was awsome. Go during what they call the "off-season." There were only 4 people in my class vs the normal 9-10. So we got lots of extra time on the track. Something like 18-20 hours in 4 days i think. The 4 day has lots of class time. And the 18-20 does not take into accoutn when were doign skid exercizes with other classes. Its strictly track time
Sameer,
Email me at asites@soe.sony.com, I will give you some info on the local (So Cal) organizations.

Skip Barber is the best, but as you said, it's expensive, but worth it. If you just want to drive your car around the track, check out TCRA (Touring Car Racing Association). You get some basic instruction in driving & safety, then it's all practice, practice, practice. They also have Races & Time Trials. Many other Honda-Tech guys seem to like to run with this Club. Next Track event is Buttonwillow on March 30-31.
