head unit reads songs but no sound
last night it was raining really hard and the roads were hard to see, and i convienently ran my newly bought 96 prelude into a ginormous pothole and my sound just cut off. my headunit reads the songs, acts as if its playing it, but no sound. i have a pioneer btw and i checked to make sure the harness and all wires were in place.

yea i have an amp...buts it not hooked up..i just have a cap with the main power 8 guage going to it...hope that helps cuz this is annoying the **** outta me!!! just spent like 200 bucks on some type r's
That's really really odd... I'd pull the deck out, disconnect all the wiring, and open that bitch up, to see if by some fluke thing, water got in there somehow...
Wierd indeed.... :scratches head:

You know, I was thinking about this on my way home from work today, and I thought of something else... Just how big was this puddle? If all of your wiring is good, then check your front speakers. If enough water got up in the door and got into a speaker, it could have shorted. I've seen more than a few instances where a blown speaker shorts dead, and the head unit reacts by shutting down the amp... I've disconnected one blown speaker in a system and the other 3 come back on...
Check your fronts and see if that helps...

hey sorry i havent replied in a while...school, but i couldnt believe. My asian friend(of course an asian could fix it
) looked at my HU and played around with it for about 10 sec and got it working.. all he did was push my brackey up about 1 degree from the bottom and it immediately started working, as if the 1 degree difference from b4 wasnt allowin it to read and play the cd. well when i was playing with the bracket of course it convienently didnt work for me..i guess all it needed was a little asian touch
thanks for the help tho
