Anyone ever run into this?
Couldn't really find anything on it in the search, but i'd be lying if i said i tried REALLY hard
Anyways, my console has been like this since i got the car, dunno how it happened. I've taken it apart a few times trying to see if something was just loose but it seems like the covering is just coming apart from the bracket. I'm probably just gonna try and order it from the dealership but just seeing if anyone has had this problem and has a DIY fix. Now for the pics, excuse the mess.

Whaddya think?

Nope, haven't had that happen, but I found out my whole head unit isn't bolted in, it popped out finally after 6 years. Oh well.

So you mean clips # 38 & 36 in this diagram? http://www.acuraautomotivepart...y.jsp
Yea mine is like that as well, it happened when I replaced my head unit (then went back to stock 3 days later). I think one of the clips broke, and sounds like thats the case from what hpnotiq_ITR said. I'm just too lazy to care.
This is a common problem from what I've experienced. Out of owning three GS-R's and one Type R...every time I would go to replace the factory head unit with something else, no matter how careful I was at taking the pieces out, the end result was always something scimilar to what is in your picture.
If a couple cheap little clips would fix it, that would be great.

well, i'm glad i'm not the only one with a busted *** looking console, lol. I'll go to the dealership wed. on my day off and see if i can get some clips and fix it. I'll update if it helps out.
yeah, my gsr console looks like that too, but i honestly thought it was b/c of thieves....they ripped my cd player out, and i figured that was broken in the process... well i'm guess i'm glad it wasn't thieves' fault

Well, i went to the dealership and bought the clip (#38 in link i posted above). It was about $1.30 or so. Took everything apart and put the clip in. Looks 1000x times better now. Everything lines up and no more sag. Woohoo. Also did a full wash/clay bar/ wax today. Don't have any pics tonight but i'll take some tomorrrow and post em up on a better host. Cheap and easy fix for all you guys with saggy consoles!

Awesome news...
but you suck at the interweb.
1) Your imagestation pics don't work for us.
2) You didn't link to a diagram, you linked to a script on the webpage that doesn't do anything unless you select a car/year/etc. The only way to link those diagrams is to view the source of the webpage, and take the GIF image from it that points to the catalog.

Okay, here's the updated pics. Sorry i forgot to take some of the install but it's really easy. Just remove your ashtray/cig panel and you'll see where the clip is supposed to go on the back. You probably still have 1 left. Just clip in on and reinstall. Then your interior will look good as new like mine.

Freshly vacummed and washed carpet. Still need to get some new floormats tho.

Yes, i became unlazy yesterday and fix my console and put my greddy **** on straight.

Me and my GF spent most of the day yesterday washing/cleaning/clay bar/waxing the R yesterday but now it looks as tho it's gonna pour down the rain today so it's gonna be dirty again
Gonna get in a pic before it looks like i've been mudbogging in it.

Hopefully my pics are working now
Everyone, go buy a $1.00 clip and fix your saggy *** consoles right now! I command thee!

I had the same problem and after many attempts I finally have it perfect. Here is what you need:
2 plastic tie mounts
zip ties
rubbing alcohol
5 min epoxy
electrical tape (the sticky fabric kind, not the plastic kind)
It may be obvious where I'm going witht tis but I will explain anyway. I think everything would be available at home depot or radioshack, I just stole it from work don't tell
)
1. clean off the the underside of the cd pocket with alcohol
2. mix 5 min epoxy and attach tiemounts about 1 1/2" from the side and front edges of the underside of the cd pocket.
3. This part is the tricky bit.. slide the zip ties through the tie mount and over the metal braket that the original cd played was attached to, and back around the plastic bar in the front. I had to use 2 zip ties on each side. Make sure everything is out of the way when you tighten them down.
4. cut a small piece of the electrical tape and put it on the inside of the metal clips the secure the astray/ cig lighter section.
5. make sure evertything is straight when you tighten the screws down and your good to go.

Not a bad idea, but wouldn't you rather fix it with oem parts rather than glue it??

Just adding myself to the "broken ashtray clip" support group...
I just ended up emptying the coins in the ashtray to remove the extra weight on that side when I put everything back together, and it doesn't look _THAT_ bad...
<-- too lazy... though I was going to just use tape ghetto styles on the inside, but left it alone
BTW, all that console CF trim is
... it's too bad we only got driver side vent trimmed
