Default KPRO?????

Does anyone know where to get a KPRO, ive heard alot about it, but is it just a stock ECU reflash or a programmble aftermarket ECU like the S200, and out of the S200 and KPRO which is better in your opion.

Have you checked out the Hondata website yet...there is a link to their dealers. The K-Pro is a complete programable ECU. It allows vehicle specific tuning to your vehicle. Hondata also does a reflash of your in car ECU which lowers the V-TEC engagement from 6000rpm to 5100 and increases the redline limiter. I've never heard of the other unit you were talking about.

s200 is for the older cars. kpro is the programmable solution for K series engines.

Im getting the k-pro upgrade this month. basically you find the nearest hondata certified shop (closest to me is a hour and a half away) and all they do is push the papaers. you said out you computer and keys to hondata, they usually get it done in 2 days, and its shipped back. you just give the hondata certified shop your billing information and stuff. then, your all set. from what i hear the k-pro system is bad ***. some dude got 60hp from his k-pro and tuning.

K-Pro is frikkin awesome. Had the chance to borrow my friends for the weekend since we took a roadtrip and his car was just sitting there anyways. The power increase and smoothness is definitely noticable. It's got too many options to list. Definitely a good buy.

In getting a ECU reflash or tuning would you need better engine components at all (ie cam gears, shafts, etc.)? It seems you're just pushing a stock engine to it's limits and technically if you push something to what it's not made for.. the life of it, in this case the K20 engine, won't last as long. I dunno if i'm making any sense at all but it's just a thought that I have.

the judgement is up to you. straight off the bat, we can tell u that a properly tuned kpro calibration will not blow up yer engine.

yes, we are pushing the stock engine farther towards the limits. but then...even if you got new cams, u'd still want to push THOSE to its safe limits....right?

yes we are shortening the life of the engine. but then...there are early 90's civics with more than 200,000 miles on the engine and still running. if i take 10% life off my engine life while running this calibration, does that really matter?

of course if you improperly tune, u can blow up yer engine. but that's no fault of the product. that's just bad tuning.

Actually the K20A2 runs a very rich tune from the factory. Leaning it out tends to make a few horsepower and adjusting your vtec engagement and a/f ratio along the powerband will make a very nice smooth curve.
