What shocks and springs for 94 GSR daily driver/weekend autoXer?
I have 118K on the OEM springs and shocks and I think it is time to replace them. Ideally, I would like a setup that is good for daily driving and weekend auto crossing. I dont want to low (Maybe, 1"-1.5"), and I dont want a bouncy harsh ride. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks
I would go with springs made by Eibach (proline, sportling, Ground Control). I have Ground Control on my stock struts right now. I must say they do VERY good for be on the stock struts. For Struts you should go with an adjustable model from Tokico, Koni, or KYB. I have the KYB AGXes in my room right now waiting to go in. They will probably be in within th week.
Eibach Pro-Kit & Koni Yellow Shocks/Struts...
Thats the height you want. THe springs are wonderful quality as with all Eibach springs... not as low as the sportlines... won't give you the slammed look.
The Koni's will allow you to ride on softer setings during the week and then tighten them up to a more firm setting for the most harsh autocrossing conditions.
You won't regret this investment. I'm yet to hear of anyone that is unsatisfied with Eibach's quality or Koni's. Good luck

you might also want to consider the H&R Sport springs with Koni Yellows. They drop slightly more than the Pro-Kit, but handle amazingly well. not too stiff, not harsh, in my opinon just right. They are very smooth almost all the time and i rarely scrape here, where there are alot of bad driveways and elevation changes. Hope thsi helps.
I have the Tokico Illuminas and Ground Controls.....they're great in my opinion...i've had this setup for about three years and i love the adjustability....in both the spring perch and shocks....but if i were you i'd save up and be patient and get myself some apexi coilover setup or tanabe sustec pro setup....spending bout $400-$500 on the shocks and $300 on the Ground Control system i regret not waiting just a couple more months for the complete system....
I love my nuespeed race and koni yellows, its a little rough but i think its worth it, i had nuespeed sports w/ tokico blue's and i am satisfied with my new set up. but i am with him save up for tanabe or apexi set up.

it depends on what setup you decide to go with anywhere from 400 for springs and decent struts to 1200 for great coilovers, hope that helps
