stock cd player works but KENWOOD player wont... Help???
Yeah... so basically i am wiring up a kenwood deck in my buddys 95 coupe and his stock deck works but the kenwood deck wont. We hooked the kenwood up in my 94 coupe and it works fine. So we are wondering what the hell is going on. Any help would be awesome.
1995-00 civics dont play after market cd players, go to the local electronics store and buy a k.t.c adapter. its only like 6 bucks and plugs right in.
goes in the back of the deck.
goes in the back of the deck.

No, the wire should already be there since the stock player works with the constant source.
Physically ground the Kenwood deck to something metal and make sure the antenna is plugged in. now does it work?
I'm assuming you're using an aftermarket wiring harness. Check the solder/crimp that you made on the acc, 12v constant and ground wires (continuity test with meter is fine). If that tests good: plug the harness into the factory wiring but not into the Kenwood. Trace the Yellow and Red to the end that would plug into the Kenwood, do you see voltage? Trace the black/ground wire to the same end: do you see continuity to ground?

Damn, I've been hosed...
Well yeah so when that didnt work, i called my bro down in cali and he said that you dont color match the wires from the deck to the harness. So we looked up what wires do what for both and they it worked, then about a mile down the road the damn thing turned off and now wont power up again.
My buddies car has been so messed up from the previous owner, im guessing, so yeah it basically sucks to work on.

^I had the same problem when I installed a new deck the other week....what was happening is the ground wire and the power wire were comming apart, so I went in there and re-wired them nice and tight and taped them up really good so they wouldn't come apart.
buy the wire harness from like walmart for like 6 bucks and wire it to that please say you didnt splice right into the wires from the stock plug
No, no way.
But we got the damn thing working again, i guess a fuse blew under his hood and we replaced it, and then it blew again, and again... And we found out that other things that shouldnt be wired to that fuse, are.
So he is just going to re-wire some stuff under his hood and see how it goes from there.
