How long can i go without alignment?
im going to lower my car with ST springs that will give about a 1.3 inch drop. i know i have to get an alignment done, but im a little short on cash, how long can i go without getting an alignment without too much uneven tire wear?
drive as little as possible (especially on highway!) and you'll be ok for a couple of weeks, but you'll eventually spend more on tires than you would on an alignment... so shop around and at least get a toe-n-go special somewhere!
Just wait until you have enough to get an alignment done...then throw the springs on a day or two before you get an alignment. I just got a 3 year alignment from TiresPlus for $99.00 last week.
I don't know what everyone is talking about. You will be fine. You are hardly droping the car and probably wouldn't need an aligments at all. For that matter I would ride on them a few weeks before I got the alignment done anyways.

Wrong,
An inch or drop will make the car toe out around a 1/2 inch or more depending on the car, aa half inch or more of toe out on both sides of the car will start to show on car imdeitally if not sooner.

Yeah solracer is right. At first once you start driving you can't tell but after alittle youll actually be able to see how far off the camber is. You def need to get a camber kit and don't lower until you have the money to do a full alignment.
i havnt read the whole thread...but my experience:
less than a year ago, i spent over 400 on yokohamas es100 w/installation...
i needed an alignment badly, but put it off becuase i needed to replace my tie rod ends...
i havent replace the rod ends yet so no alignment yet either...
my ******* $240 tires in the front are badly bald with camber wear...
i ******* hate my life...hahahaha....

I did the same thing when I first starting working on my car. I lowered without knowing what to expect and put some rims on with new Kohmo tires and about 3 weeks later the front was ruined. Camber wear comes quick especially on the highway.

Also incorrect, Toe is the fastest wearing aligment issue not camber. Camber will evently show, but I did not notice any wear from camber until my tires we basicalyl shot at 35000 miles. With incorrect toe you dragging your tires accross the pavement. With out of spec camber, (which on most honads spec is +.5 to -1.5) you will see the wear over time, on my tires the insides were blad and the outiside was at the wear bars after 35000+ miles.

Well im just saying from my experience. When I lowered my car the aligment was still in spec in the case of being in and out and the tires only weared from camber. I drive a lot of highway miles and I noticed wear after alittle more than a week. The in and out was only effected after the camber kit was put on. You are right though they will wear faster from toe wear.

i've got 15,000 miles on my tires with about -1.8 degrees of camber all around and i don't even notice any camber wear at all. tires still have like tons of meat left too.
