Brake problem
I put some EBC greens on the front of my GSR 3K miles ago. While they stopped better than stock, they squealed too much, particularly on the left front.
Now, after 3K miles they are gone and the left front rotor is scored and grinding when I stop. I never raced with these, either.
Now, I have few questions.
1) Was there something wrong with the left front all the while? Like a caliper that was stuck/not sliding properly?
2) Should any pad wear out in 3K miles of street driving?
3) Besides the rotor, what will I F--- up if I have to drive my car another 150 miles before looking at the brakes & changing pads and rotors? I don't want to put new calipers on after this debacle.
Luckily, I ordered Porterfield R4S pads two weeks ago.
Thanks.

1. Yes, it sounds like there was a caliper problem to begin with. Which LF pad wore the most -- the inner or the outer? If it's the inner pad, suspect a binding piston or some other hydraulic problem. If it's the outer pad, suspect binding harware on the caliper itself (pins, slides...).
2. No.
3. Maybe nothing, maybe everything. If it locks up and throws you into a spin, you might kill someone.

Just grinding, still stops (for now). I am taking into account the reduced braking capabilities when I drive. Fortunately, I just have to drive it far enough to get to the bodyshop, back, one day's commute and then to a garage.
It is the outer pad, so I'd guess stuck hardware.
Thanks.
