I have a ls/vtec motor in my 89 crc HF and it was great until I pulled it after a week for a rebuild (my choice, motor was fine). A lot of people will tell you that LS/VTEC is unrealiable and blah blah blah, but there are plenty of proven motors out there. Do it right (upgrade to a VTEC oil/water pump, timing belt) and I don't see any reason that it shouldn't last you longer than you'll ever want to keep the car.

My brother has a b16 in his 90Si hatch and there is a noticible difference in HP and Torque.

anything is better than a b16 they are the torqueless wonder of the honda world. I would go with a ls turbo. Hes right about the ls vtec a common problem is the oil pump not being upgraded. I have seen alot of them come and go though. I would just stick with an ls for turbo or nos
