"and hes doing the single port to dual port fuel conversion"

I guess you mean dual point to multy point fuel injetion.
About turbo charging the D15, it has a slightly higer compression ratio than the D16
so your friend needs to watch out for detonation.
i am also doing a slow turbo buld up on a spare d15 I have.
I ordered eagle rods and 9.1:1 low compression pistons, which should help to keep detonation from blowing up the motor.

they make turbo's for d15's? That's new to me. just curious, wouldn't it be more cost effective to buy an a d16?

abaz for the crx ressource hit 13 sec in the quarter mile with d5 turbo.and abaz have approximately 150 hp. the only difference between the d15 and d 16 block is the cranck.the si cranck is bigger little bite.

not happening with the dpfi its a plastic peice over the throtle body and its not made to even except a intake really its more like a carbourator if hes serious about doing it goto abaz's site and read the hf and std manifold can be used the motor may blow if not tuned right and hes gonna learn alot doin it hes gonna need to convert to the si injection or it wont get enough fuel and it will probably blow the throtle body cover off when boost kicks in

Check out my site...

Yes you can turbo a d15b2.. I recommend doing a DPFI to MPFI swap first... but I have a guy on my website who kept the DPFI and used a additional injector controller to work under boost.

"I ordered eagle rods and 9.1:1 low compression pistons, which should help to keep detonation"

big rods will not do anything to stop detonation.. you need to upgrade your fuel and igntion system. Pistons are what breaks first in detonation, ring lands break off, then once you hit the 225hp mark the threshold of the D-series rods snaps in half.

#1, Eagle doesn't make 1.5L rods.

#2, 1.5L rods are the first item to die.

Even the strongest internals in the world will give under detonation. Invest in fuel and timing management.

didnt maximedx say that the d15 and 16 the internals are same except the crank, so wouldnt you be able to use the d16 rods in the d15?

I was thinking a year or so ago there was an article on a CRX with a 1.5 turbo that ran real fast, like maybe 11s? All I know is that it was funky green with lots of graphics and the biggest front mount intercooler I have ever seen.

yes mistabone the d16 cranck is bigger so eventually the rods is bigger. because the rod porting is little bit bigger.

Yeah that green civic is the fastest 1.5 civic. Probably because nobody else does a 1.5. It would be stupid and I'd only do it if I had way too much money to blow but I'd like to do up another HF port the head and do the valves and turbo that thing. Get about 110HP but a but load of torque. My goal would be to still get 45MPG out of it and to the 1/4 in 15.2. Yeah ok I'm talking out my *** but it would be cool do it up with the 91 Teg brakes and to the suspension this way you wouldn't have any extra weight from an engine swap and could get the best handling CRX because you can't get any lighter. Hey just another one of my stupid fantasies to do right up there with getting a 3.8 camaro instead of the Z28 and putting the supercharger on it. It's stupid but would be different.

Well the 3.8 Supercharged Grand Prix's and Bonnevilles have 245HP to start with this setp on a camaro with headers, intake, cat, catback exhaust, chip, and pulleys. I figure should be good for an easy 300HP which would put you right there next to a Z28 for little money. Also I'm talking getting the supercharger from the junkyard off of the GTP. Hey these are just little dreams that if I had the money I'd consider doing it just to see how it would do. No the camaro was always a little fascination because I had a chance to buy the cheapest model possible of a firebird one year and last year the camaro either one new for $13K stickered at 17K. Just thought it would be an interesting alternative, if any of you have ever called the insurance company about a LS1 Z28 you know it's not pretty. I've got ideas for just about every car out there. For example the Geo Storm cheap *** car not alot of mechanical problems you can pick em up for nothing, there a jspec Isuzu turbo 1.8 180HP engine that drops right in. Image a 200HP Storm. For not very much money. I could go on all day about poo poo in my head. I've done research on engine transplants on I think damn near every kind of car.

my friend is arguing that all the stuff is the same because when he looks at parts i.e. rods pistons there are labled 1.5/1.6 i dont deal wiht crx's at all so i dont know which is it that makes it the 1.6 over the 1.5--piston or rod

Tell your friend to get the correct info.
............................................D15... .........D16
Crank Journal diameter..........45mm........55mm
Rod journal diamter...............42mm........45mm
Connecting Rod length..........134mm.......137mm

Also the 1.5L piston has a 3mm taller compression height above the pin.

That's right.

If I didn't need my car everyday, I would play around with boosting it. There's another one at my father's shop, I may try a few things with that one. Maybe do a vvt conversion on that as well, once I finish the other stuff.
