Default Crx DX question

Alright here's the deal.

I need to know if I can use the complete 90-91 si interior wiring harness in a 88 crx dx. Reason being, i have a B16a swap and the wiring is giving me headaches. The motor runs fine except there's no VTEC. I've suspected that the VTEC problem is a oil pressure problem since I've disconnected the VTEC solenoid (ECU threw a code 21) and the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch (ECU threw a code 22). So I just want to swap the WHOLE harness for a Multipoint harness (I have pinouts so i know about adding the VTEC components). I'm just not sure if It'll plug into my speedometer and other interior components w/o any hassle since the whole purpose of the harness change-over is to relieve the headaches. Also, if this relieves my VTEC problem, I'll be extremly happy!! I'll appreciate the help.

dude, http://www.rywire.com !!!

Don't use another cabin harness, keep your stock DX harness.
Send rywire your harness and we'll fix it for you.
Email me, peter(at)rywire.com, i'll cut you a deal since it sounds like you've already done half the work.
Please do not destroy your harness anymore and buying another harness, having to remove the dash etc is not the best option, we are.

hehehe
So everyone knows, we do carry core's.. DX harnesses unmodified to replace destroyed ones.
We have Si harnesses in stock as well most weeks.
Most are pulled from local junkyards, cleaned, connections tested, retaped.

We charge a $25 convienience fee, $50 core.
Refunds for your messed up harness range between $10 to the full $50

We've seen it all. spaghetti, everywhere in a box, no loom to be found.. seen it..
We did have that customer buy a core off us
It beats going to a junkyard hoping to find the right harness, paying $30+ for it there and shipping it to us for $10... ends up costing you more time and the same if not more money..

if you have a complete si harness, why pay for it somewhere else? i understand its a business and their product is probably good, but with me money's short and it'll work the same as long as its not water damaged or cut or something.

Simplicity... Specially on my swap (pre-OBD to OBD1)... And for the exact reason of this thread, hes having wiring problems... With a premade harness u dont have to worry about that nearly as much, since its mostly plug and play...

All i need to know is, besides the hazard switch, if a 90-91 CRX Si interior harness will plug right into a 88 CRX DX. I came across a full 90 SI harness that I want to put in if it will fit. I do appreciate the offer with the sending in the stock DX harness and getting another one, but i've tore into my DX <U>INTERIOR</U> harness already. I've exchanged the C211 Plug for the circular one instead of the rectangular one, etc. Thanks to all for your input

NikoZai, like those pics??? LOL!! Well i'm going to troubleshoot it Sunday afternoon/Monday morning since I have a huge 12hr paintball tournament tomorrow night. HAHAHA. The only problem i'm having wiring wise is the charging system not charging the battery. Alternator's good so it might be a short somewhere, but i'm tired of working on the wiring that's why i want to just do the si harness changeover. VTEC not kicking in on the other hand is most likely a internal motor problem (oil control orfice clog??? bent oil pan???) since the ECU isn't throwing any codes. I'm going to rebuild the motor anyways so I'll check it out then. I appreciate the help. I'll be waiting for ur friend's post.

I FOUND OUT THE CHARGING PROBLEM!!! Ok, I went to Walmart and bought this nifty Vector 2/10/20/40/100Amp Battery Charger (about $90). I hooked it up to my battery since it decided to die again and jumped my car with it. When I used the Alternator Check function, it said my alternator wasn't pushing enough current back to the battery. BUT when I hooked up the negative side of the charger to the engine mount bolt on the driver's side, the alternator check function said the alternator was good. HMMMMMM... so i hooked up each negative side of some jumper cables from that bolt to the negative battery terminal (while the car was already on), the car seemed to bog down a little bit and idle really smooth. I looked at the gas level guage along with some of the light indicators and they were all finally operating normally. I left the jumper cable connected for a bit. When I turned the car off then cranked it back up, WHALA!!! The battery actually charged. So I'm going to get a grounding kit or just have a 8 or 4 guage wire coming from that bolt to the negative battery terminal. My wiring is right. My months of research paid off. When I finally get everything grounded right, I'm going to see how well the car runs. I'll post what happens.

LOL!!! I GOT VTEC!!!! It had nothing to do with my wiring. It was a oil pressure problem. I had a bad oil pump and a slightly clogged oil pickup. I rebuilt the motor and changed out the oil pump to one from a gsr. The only wiring problem I had was that I needed a ground kit to help the chassis ground connect to the negative terminal from many different locations instead of a little *** 8 guage wire that hardly connects the the chassis and the tranny. Thanks to all who gave their input. I did my homework and all worked out with the swap. If anybody is willing to do their own wiring for a DX to SiR, just hit me up and i'll give you the details. If not, just hit up NikoZai and pay to have your stock engine harness converted.
