Default Value of a B16A2 Swapped Sol?

I wasn't sure if I should post this here, or in the Hybrid forum, or maybe even in GDD, so if this thread is in the wrong spot, move it/delete it.

My GF was thinking about picking up a '93 Del Sol with a B16A2 swap. Chassis has 130k miles, engine has 36k miles. The guy who swapped it in is asking 7k..assuming everything looks good (haven't gone to check it out yet), is this a good price? I know nothing about Del Sol values, so your comments are appreciated.

http://www.kbb.com

check the bodywork, mechanically, and original miles on the chassis.

then think of a reasonable price.

a 93 Del Sol bluebook is about $2,000-$3,000 depending on condition.

now if the swap is done correctly and legit, i'd give him about $4,300+-. it all depends on the other variables.

need detailssss... I dont know what type of other work hes got done to it but there are other parts of the car that could drive the price up....

but if youre lookin at a stock body, stock wheels, suspension interior that type of stuff its WAYYY overpriced... its all relative...

Good luck with whatever you decide to go with tho!

Sorry I was so vague. Supposedly it's a JDM B16A2 mated with a S80 tranny. He said that these parts are also on the car: Stage III 6 puck sprung clutch, P30 ECU, brand new axles, shift linkage, shift mounts, starter, new belt, full tune up, full sway bar kit. Thrown in he's offering a full agx and coil over kit which is yet not installed.

I thought 7k sounded a bit overpriced, mods usually don't add very much value to the car. He says it has 'alloy wheels', no idea about the tires. Does 4-5k sound like a reasonable offer? Thanks for all posts so far

Everyone dumps a **** load of money into their cars and always start out with a asking price close to that. Eventually, they realize that people aren't going to pay that and they lower it to something reasonable.

I'd say the car is worth 5k if the swap is done well and the paint, body, and interior are in good condition. Haggle your way to 5k, say that's your best offer, leave a number, wait a week, and he'll most likely call. If not, you CAN find a VTEC trim level model for 5k.

Yeah it sux, never put a lot of money into a car you don't intend to keep for a long time! You don't get your investment back.
