Default Hi all and question about the JDM Type R steering wheel

Hey everyone, just recently bought myself a 97 R so im the new guy to this board after driving my gsr for a couple years i couldnt hold it back anymore and here i am.

Anyhow, my car has been under construction and i just recently got a hold of a JDM Type R steering wheel with airbag, and for some reason, the steering wheel doesnt fit the spleen(sp?) seems to be a bit off and im wondering if i need some sort of a adapter, grind it(not really a favorite option) or if im doing something wrong, any help here would be good.

Sounds like a you have a CTR steering wheel.

The ITR and CTR have different splines.

Can CTR JDM Steering wheels not fit onto 97-01 integras w/o modification? If not, then what modifications do you need to do to the wheel to have it fit? let me know. thanks.

I believe there's only 1 guy that made it to work with custom fabrication and lots of down-time. IM benjamintang .

It is definitely A LOT easier to sell your CTR steering wheel and get an ITR s.w. and that's what all of us would do.

p.s. welcome to the board!

Wow, must be nice to just echange it. Share with us if you would, who you do your JDM business with? Sounds like a good dealer. Anyone we know or should know?

Welcome, to HT!

PS post up some PICS soon, I love the CW's and rarely see 'em anymore on the East coast.

CWs are slower

I wish we had Red, those are the only ones quick enough to compete with Yellow

1GreyTeg

I have a friend that can get almost anything JDM and the basic bolt ons such as I/H/E and so forth. He doesnt like to be mention, rather keep it on the DL so if you need anything you can email me at sp00ntyper@aol.com and if he can get it i can get back to you on prices.

Also, he likes to deal locally so he can avoid the tax/shipping charges and cash is the only thing he accepts, so yeah, its a SoCal only thing sorry guys

EDIT: oh yeah, i'll get pics of my car as soon as i get it back from the bodyshop(jdm front end)

Sup Spoon97R this is J. Welcome to Honda-tech. Too bad your JDM steering wheel you showed me didn't fit. Hopefully I'll be the first one to see your car when it is finished. Too bad it won't be a Spoon R like mine because I just got a almightly Spoon Shift **** for my car.

it will fit on a 94- teg if you change the steering column to a 96- civic and use the civic turn signal controls and so forth. I put a JDM itr wheel in my 96- EK, and unfourtnatly ran into the same problem. I had to change out the entire column to teg, i guess im one of the few with the teg wheel in an ek, if nobody else figured it out. If you want i have my complete EK column still if anyones interested, will bolt up directly to a teg and you can bolt up the ctr wheel to it.

Do you have a picture of that steering wheel column? I have a 94 Teg and I tried to put a JDM RSX'r steering wheel and it didn't work. What do I have to do.? JEFF
