Hey i own a 91ef std with a b8 motor in it came out of a 95 civic cx with 65 thousand on it i know its a slow motor but my current b1 had 200,000 so it was shot and smoking so i putt the b8 in 2 get around for now but i was wondering...If i get like a a6 head from a crx or a vtec head z6 and put it on the b8 would it like hold up since it only came with 8 valves and i still have 2 switch it 2 mpfi so iam going 2 do that shortly and get a si tranny cuz i have a hf long geared in my hatch now prolly run a 18 in the 1/4 lol but i just want 2 know if it would gain alot with a 16v head and mpfi with si tranny get back 2 me laterrr....

 

well, if i read this correctly, you currently have an 8 valve head on your engine, and you want to put a 16 valve head on it? that wont work unless you get different pistons. there are bowls on the top of the pistons that are cut for a different number of valves. you will get interference between the valves and the pistons if you mix and match without changing the pistons.

 

well that answers that all that really sucks ... owell b16 time..

 

haha I was rockin the B8 for 5 months, and I just barely finished my ZC swap. Good luck.

p.s. our cars still haul with that B8 in it lol. I made a better 0-60 time than my 2001 Sunfire. With the ZC its not even a contest anymore. A B16 will do wonders.
