Default just bizarre

so yesterday i decided to fix the small coolant leaks i had, one on a heater hose and one on the intake mani, i get a new gasket for the mani replace that, and get a new hose for the heater, i also decide to run my catch which goes from the black box on the back of the engine to the catch can to the inlet on the turbo, get everything all back together, start her up and she revs like crazy and billows white smoke (which i believe is coolant looking) so i shut it off and look and it looks like colloant is coming out of where the heand and exhuast mani meet and where the mani meets the turbo! how on earth and i getting coolant in my cylinder head? i will piost pics in a couple of minutes

if i didnt have a flat surface on the intake mani and the head could it cause coolant to seep into the head? could it cause this much? also if the pcv valve isnt hooked up to anything and just handing there could it cause my rpms to go crazy?

That is bizarre... and one dirty *** engine

I really don't know why coolant would be leaking out where it is... are you sure it is leaking where you think it's leaking? Try cleaning it up a bit, then starting the car and watch for leaks...

Is your turbo water cooled? I can't tell from the pics...

Oh, and removing your PCV valve and running a line from the black box to a catch can shouldn't affect your idle... unless you forgot to plug up the origninal PCV line on the intake manifold...

Dude thats freaking impossible. You had to have of switched two of the hoses on the IM. So I bet your just pumping coolant into the IM. As for the idle surging you described, a result of switching the coolant hose for a vacuum. So its acting like it has a vacuum leak.

Sounds to me like you didn't get all of the old intake mani gasket off before putting on the new one, which is allowing a vacuum leak and coolant to get into the cylinders. Take the mani off and make sure it is all scraped off, and replace gasket again.

I wouldnt turn it over anymore than you already have. With so much coolant that its coming out the exhaust manifold, hydrolocking is a serious possibility.

Find out why so much coolant is getting into the engine. Check all the hoses, then check them all again. Something is amiss. I would also take off the IM and make sure that you got all the old gasket off, I know that one time I didnt and I just slapped another gasket on the IM and I cracked the IM which lead to the coolant leaking into the IM (there is a passage like right by the last runner). I had it welded a few times and finally fixed it.

Good Luck dude, hope you figure it out, dont get discouraged, its always something simple.
