Falken Tires
Yo, give me some opinions on the Falken Azenis Sports. I know them sh#ts is good on dry turf but I hear in wet weather there like suicide. Another bad thing I hear is that if yo don't do a standstill burnout to warm them up, they don't grip at all. Also what you'll think about the Falken Zeix 512s for Allseason/performance.

Dry traction and handling: Excellent
Wet traction: So-so (not as good as most other tires, but that doesn't mean that they're "suicidal")
Cost: Excellent for the RT-215 ($71/tire 205/50-15), okay for the RT-615 that is replacing the RT-215 ($92/tire 205/50-15)
Treadlife: Poor (on an ITR, most owners report 10-15K miles, with a few getting less than that and a few others getting more)
Noise: Noisy
Weight: Heavy
All in all, they're an excellent tire for autocross, and also excellent for street use if you don't mind replacing your tires fairly often and if you live somewhere that doesn't get much rain (or you have another car to drive in rain).

All-season and performance are two different things. You sacrifice performance for an all-season rating, and if you get a performance tire, don't expect it to grip well in the winter. Decide first what kind of tire you want - an all-season tire or a performance tire - and then figure out which tire to get.

I had the ziex 502s and they won't take snow at all...not even a dusting. They're good in rain and have nice dry handling characteristics. Didn't have them on long enough to tell you treadwear though. My Civic got wrecked.
the rt-215's were great summer/dry tires. the tire was designed more for dry driving conditions but that doesn't mean you can't drive in the rain. the main problem people usually experienced with the rt-215 is the continuous grip over one period of time (road race / grip track use). the rt-215's tend to become greasy as the tire gets hotter. they begin to lose the gripping power over continuous hard driving. as for short spurt hard driving (auto-x), the rt-215 has been known to be excellent.
the new rt-615 is designed with different compounds and is designed to perform during long periods. not to say that the rt-615 will suck during auto-x type driving, but unlike the rt-215, the rt-615 will not become greasy and will hold it's grip during long periods of hard driving.
one good thing about the rt-615 is that it does not have a steel reinforced sidewall like the rt-215. this helps with the weight reduction but does not compromise sidewall rigidity. the side will is still reinforced to be stiff for hard corning.
as for the wet weather driving, the rt-615 will typically perform better than the rt-215 due to different compound and the most obvious, new tread pattern. the new tread pattern will allow for better water sipening, but still, the rt-615 will perform up to par in the rain compaired to other tires in it's class.
the rt-615 is an overall better performing tire compared to the rt-615. although the rt-615 is more expensive than the rt-215, it still beats other tire prices.
as for the ze-512, great all weather tire. not really designed for performance use. the tire was mainly designed for an all purpose driving style. the 512's were rated number 1 for wet weather driving in consumer guide. i say if you are looking for performance and good wet weather driving, look into the fk-451 or the st-115.
hope this helps...
