Default Any good autocad how too sites?

Any one know of any good autocad how too sites? I just put Autocad 2001 on my computer and I can draw very basic items (circle, square) but I dont remember how the coding went.

I learned some master cam, smill, and an older verson of autocad when I was in highschool but that was over 6 years ago. All I remeber is that you can make a drawng just by typing in the dimensions.

What I am looking for is a tutorial type page that walks you through making a cube with a hole drilled in it and chamfered edges. For example.

Thanks

Don't know about websites, BUT...

Glencoe McGraw-Hill publish all the textbooks for Autodesk programs. They might have a book for 2001.

I have "Applying Autocad 2000: A Step-by-Step Approach". It's not what you would call an easy read though, it's 1152 pages of pure technical data. Made to be used with a learning course.

I can try to walk you thru it. I have been working with CAD since release 14. I work in the field with CAD. Or better yet send be a pic or something and I will try it for you. The file will be very small so emailing is fine.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I have a wierd small issue. Say if i use the circle tool. and make the circle too big my computer will crash.

WTF. The first time I thought it was a glitch but I tried it three more times and got the same result. Fortunately I was just screwing around and didnt have anything important going on.

The pc I have isint really a gaming super machine so do you think it could be due to a crappy vid card or lack of mucho ram?

hmmm try typing in the radius or dimaeter of the circle needed as opposed to moving the mouse for size

first go to format and then choose units. set your units to like architectural. and then set precision to like 1/16. if you don't set units your computer would be like wtf are you trying to get me to do. no need to set precision bigger if your not doing a plan. now you can just type c for circle and then press enter. it will default to radius so hit d for diameter. now punch in the diameter of the circle you want. if you want to do it in 3d. type in ext for extrude and tell it how high you want to go. same with the square. create the box at the size you want it and type ext. remember there is no one way to do things in Cad. some methods maybe easier than others if your not use to the software.
