Best tool to check distributor(searched)
I have been having some problems with my sensors shorting on me and I was thinking that my distributor might be the cause of it all and I would like to check and see if that is the problem. Maybe I didnt search enough, but I need to some insight on what would be a good tool to use to check and see if it is the problem? Also where would I be able to get the one and how to use it would be helpful too. Thanks alot.
Multimeter to check voltages and conductivity.
You can source one at any electrical/hardware supplier.
Sears, Home Depot, Walmart, etc....

They do offer more functionality, but not that useful for most of us. I've used both and always grab the expensive one since I always break the cheap ones.

I use a $1.99 multimeter. Habor freight special yo! It worked well enough to tell me my distributor coil pack was bad so that's good enough for me.
Cheap stuff that works
Cheap stuff that I can get mad at and break without feeling bad

If someone has a scanner and can scan the pages out of there helms to show me how to test my distributor, that will be very helpful.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Anyone know how to check sensor wires as well? My Crankshaft fluctuation sensor is short circuited and i would like to see if it is the wires or the sensor itself.
