Turn up the volume...
F1 footage
Shane (Kengs) can attest to the intensity of sitting under the canopies. Only those deemed hardcore went without any hearing protection. It was funny to watch all during the weekend, people finding whatever they could to stuff in their ears to try and block out the sound. Yeah it is mostly Honda footage, shoot me, I am biased.

Shanghai Circuit is simply AWESOME! What a great place to watch motorsports. Only the food was a bit lacking - definitely nothing compared to those JDM Beef Kabobs @ Suzuka
Chris, I thought I could make the inaugural MotoGP race there in May, but those plans have gone up in smoke - maybe next year.

I think we were probably the only 2 people who went w/o hearing protection the entire weekend; I thought my ears were gonna bleed

Shane that definitely would of been good to go see. I think if I do MotoGP, it has to be at Motegi first, that way I can take in the Honda Hall Exhibit.
Though next time we go to Shanghai circuit, the karts should be up and running!!!

Really cool though. Plan to move to China in 2 years.

I beg to differ. I've only seen Shanghai and was only there for 4 days, but there were a shitload of cars everywhere. China is going to have the largest population of cars soon enough. Alternate fuel sources need to come in effect NOW!!!

Awsome vid. I knew I should've made it to last year's F1!
Just some FYI: Shanghai is in China, not JDM land
And Shanghai is the most populated city in the world.
<------- Is going to try to make it to this year's F1 finale in Oct. Time to brush up on reading some communist simplified Chinese @_@

Shane and I think the best seating for actual viewing maybe right before they come into the canopy section. It is out in the blazing sun, but you can see the whole straight away and also the main straight. At least we think so. I'm sure you will have a great time if you go.
Most definitely I will go back one day. Didn't really experience the city itself, which is MASSIVE!!!

Sight lines are very good throughout the circuit, but yeah the area out in the sun is probably the best vantage point. Just make sure you bring sunscreen - we couldn't find any anywhere in Shanghai.

My fault, as I was hobbled with bone spurs in my right foot
Next time, we will need to go to the nightclubs along Maoming Rd.

Well after looking at the 2005 calendar, it looks like I can go the Shanghai F1 again this October, since I'm gonna be in China anyway
Chris, Will, lemme know if either of you wanna go

Here's a layout of the circuit for anyone interested in going; the inaugural Shanghai MotoGP race is May 1st; the F1 race is the last one on the schedule (October 16th).
The track is shaped like the chinese character 'up'... or shang... as in shang hai.
I was there.. the track is simply amazing.. built brand new. With help of Germany I think... maybe also Japan.... not sure. And of course chinese labor yO. CDM *****s.

It is more than just AMAZING, utterly SUPERB!!! The facilities are top notch, though they could use a trolley system from the bus drop off to seating on the complete other side of the circuit, for some of those ancient elders feet
Though somebody needs to import the beef kabob guy from Suzuka, that would of made the place an absolute

, as it was, the lack of hotties running around and poor food choices, it only got a
