power stearing+h22 swap?

Default power stearing+h22 swap?

Is there anyway to keep the power stearing in my 98 coupe with the h swap ive always read that you have to remove the ac and ps to do this swap but i just saw one with the ac still on it so it got me hoping i could keep the ps. If not have any of you drivin a coupe with no ps ive drivin a crx and i was fine but never a big car if so how do you like/dislike it?

as far as i know.. which isn't much.. i've never seen an h22 swap with PS.. i have a friend with a h22 swap in his ek hatch.. i don't think it's worth it neways.. i'd rather go with a gsr or type r swap.. the h22 weighs down the front end

this is true, and i have the same personal preference (type r vs. h22), but don't forget the much lower price of an h22 and its higher factory torque is very appealing to a lot of people.

and as far as the front end being weighed down, the differences between the weight of a type R or GSR vs. the weight of an H22 has been disputed here on H-T and last time i heard it wasn't that much of difference. do a search maybe you'll find the thread..

in any case as far as weight goes, accomodations can always be made for the extra weight

belive me if i had the money i would go with the R but the big numers from the h stock and the price are very apeling plus one of my good friend is a harcose h22 prelude guy and im still farily new to hondas i got sick of my dsm breaking all the time(shocking i know) so i decided to try somthing new

The last post i saw on all the weight differences between all swaps, h22 was only 20-40lbs lighter....do you honestly think that 20-40lbs could make the springs buckle and stress anymore than a type-r, comon man lets be realistic.

My personal opinion in this whole matter is that power steering sucks.
I actually cant wait till I get time to disable my power steering. I had a 93 Coupe DX without it and now I have a 94 Coupe EX with it and I felt I had so much more control over the car without it. From what I can remember the steering was more responsive and I was able to drive it quicket through twisties.
Just my opinion though.

Only time it sucks not having it is when you are parallel parking. Its a difficult to turn the wheel while at a dead stop, if the car is moving the slightest bit though its easier. There is a bonous to that though, its a good workout

i have a 95 coupe with an h22 swap with no power steering it's not bad at all. go with the h you'll be happy with it
