I was reading the post about tapping into the oil pressure switch line...the one that sends oil into the turbo. And it sounds really complicated.....is it really that hard?? I also looked at Dustin's website to see what he did, and it didnt look all that bad there, but then people are talking about tapping into the block and other stuff. So how hard and complicated is it really to do. I did do a search for this, but I couldnt find an answer to my question

 

It's really no big deal to tap the oil feed line...just be careful to thread any adapters that go into the block carefully and STRAIGHTLY. Don't want to cross thread. Some people feel the need to do elaborate setups or are concerned about the BSP vs. NPT pipe threads, but most just use NPT without any problems...

 

Yea. . .make sure it's strait!!! Cross threading-- It's really not that hard.

where should i go to buy high quality versions of (b) and (d) ?
Z10 makes a part for (b) right? what about the rest? I looked on anplumbing.com and couldn't find any BSP adapters.

in response to that diagram arturbo, where is the oil feed line for the turbo? assuming you have one line going to the gauge, the other to the oil pressure switch. would you just buy a tee with another outlet?

anyone know where i can get that 1/8 NPT (M) -> 1/8 BSPT (F) adapter? i couldn't find it on anplumbing.com ...

The hole is near the top of the filter with only one wire going in to a rubber boot. Pull the boot off and there is the sending until.

The BPT vs. NPT is a bigger deal to me. They are noticably different. You can't really thread NPT in to BPT without cutting new threads. You might as well be cross threading it.

You can buy the BPT to NPT adapters at AutoZone parts stores made by sunpro for something like $3.00 or $5.00 for a whole pack of useless ones, and the one you need. It's worth it to get it done right IMO. It threads in very very easily.

I think I got all of my fittings and everything needed (besides the turbo feed line) for about $35.00 - $40.00.

ok, so if i got a oil line kit from somewhere and i took the oil pressure switch off so i could put the feed line in where would the oil pressure switch go to, would it just be hanging there or do the kits come with a T of somekind

 

You should have a tee.

 

its no big deal if it hangs there, you wont throw any check engine lights or anything.

if you want to keep the oil pressure sensor, either:

1.) tee(s) on the block to allow both oil pressure sensor and oil feed line to attach.

2.) run a line to the firewall, and put the tee there. Check my signature

I just run an oil pressure gauge, because it will tell you of any problems a hell of a lot faster than the stock oil pressure sensor. Here is a pic of How I have my Fast-turbo.com oil feed. The plugged port on top is for the oil feed line for the soon to be turbo

damn i will never use that autometer plastic hose for oil pressure gauge again...
have you had problems with it yet?

 

So what do you do with the stock oil pressure sender once its not connected anymore...just kinda leave it there? Will the oil light be on all the time if its not connected?

yes you leave it there nope it won't make the oil light come on.

or you can use a T and connect the stock sensor + sending unit
