I am bidding on a JDM armrest for my 94 LS, the guy said that this armrest he has is only made in Japan, is has a hard plastic armrest, is this real JDM or fake??? He wants only 40 bucks for it, here is the pic: he said it is from a GSR/SIR

there is no such thing as a jdm gsr armrest.... it would be called a sir-g or si-vtec armrest... juz by a regular one from the U.S. cuz there is no difference.

 

an armrest is an armrest....well thats what i think anyway. He prolly is jus saying jdm so more people want to buy it.

 

he probably means JDM as in RHD, if thats the case, it wont fit a LHD bc theres a slight curve. i cant tell from that pic which way its curving though. a friend of mine made the mistake of buying JDM interior pieces, the only thing he could actually use was i think the ash tray or cup holder or something.

 

that armrest is real from Japan. I had one and it fit on my dc perfectly. the only one that won't fit is the shifterconsole part.

There is a difference in the US type and Japan type. It's just the hard plastic armrest part (its smaller and Ha lighter compared to the armrest). No one really cares about this stuff anyway.

I think you're confusing the center console for the armrest pictured above. Its the center console from a JDM car that won't fit in a USDM car with the LHD dash ( that is...unless you spend mucho bucks and convert to RHD ). The armrest console itself is a "straight" piece and won't matter if you got one from europe, japan, australia or somewhere in the US, it'll fit!

oh, i thought he said that didnt fit either......i know the center shifter consol part definately wont fit bc that you can really tell its curved. yeah, now that i look, that part on the bottom of the armrest where it connects to the shifter consol is straight!

no its so annoying when people are all like ahh man i gotta be like the cool kids and get everything JDM. gotta have a JDM engine, jdm shift ****, jdm header, jdm armrest, jdm gauges, jdm 10mm spark plug cover nuts. get my point?

 

lol....yea i somewhat understand. But not everyone getting jdm parts are like that. Like me....I ALMOST have every jdm itr piece on my teg except for the rear taillights, LCAs and that rear gusset ( I believe that's the welded part which the LCAs attach to ) and the motor and the actual v.i.n. I know it will never be "JDM"......but having those pieces to me give the car a nice clean "accented" look compared to how it looked before. And besides.....I wanted to do it anyway....nothing wrong with wanting jdm parts....so as long as you're not doing it to copy someone else's style.

Now....what I CAN'T stand and maybe this is along the lines to what you were thinking....is how people be BITING other people's **** and can't seem to come up with their OWN designs or ideas for their rides. Like....oh...you all have clear corners...then I gotta have clear corners. You got the stalker front end? well **** I gotta get that too then. Sorry for the rant...but I hate it when people do **** like that.

so if you bought the whole jdm type R center console it wouldn't fit because of the curve?

 

yes. If you have a DC integra or if you know of anyone that does, next time, look at their center console and the dash. Notice that on the driver's side ( left for us ) that the center console is more or less.....straight. On the passenger side there is that infamous curve However...this also applies to the JDM car....but for them since the car was RHD...it'd be the opposite side of where that curve would be. Thus....why the RHD center console will NOT fit a car with the LHD dash.


*edit: but this does not apply to the armrest console or the armrest delete piece. They'll go on either LHD or RHD cars since they're both "straight" pieces.*
