B16a High Idle
My newly swapped B16a is idling waaaaaay too high, 1700-2000 rpm. Is there an idle adjuster anywhere? The throttle cable is correctly adjusted and the TPS is in the correct position, vacuum pipes's are all ok.
Only thing I can think of is that I'm running my old JDM ZC (similar to D-series) injectors (the originals weren't available)...but surely this couldn't cause the problem could it?

How long does it idle at 1700-2000 rpms? Because in my DA, it does that exact same thing, except it goes back down to normal after warming up for about 3 minutes. If that is not your case, FWIW, there is a screw inside your throttle body that can be used to adjust the idle speed.

Hey there. Just swapped a B16 in my 94 teg. Had the same problem. Check these things out, for one you might have your timing to far advanced at the distributor, try loosening the distributor and turning it both ways till the idle goes down. If that is not enough, do you have all of your belts hooked up? P/S,A/C ? The injectors are more than likely not your problem unless you have bad o-rings on them.

It's like that the whole time, never drops. The old JDM ZC used to be a bit revvy whan it was cold, seems to be fairly common.

This is what I was thinking...they're governed by the ECU and all there is to them is two wires when you think about it, I can't see them being a problem really but thought I'd throw that in in case anybody had any ideas.
I've the belts on all right, although the p/s pump ceased up since the swap - if anybody has a spare to sell? They don't really make much difference anyway. My timing light is out of action so I've not checked the ignition timing yet, it could be totally off for all I know - but I did see the engine running before I bought it and it seemed ok, although thats not to say it wasn't knocked out since.
Thanks for the input all, that link was a great help - now all I have to do is get off my *** and sort this out!

on the mainifold behind it is an idle air conrol valve can it out really good and if that doesn't fix it there should be one at the under the throttle body it looks similiar to the one behind the manifold with two hoses coming out from under the throttle body if it makes grinding nose then the one under throttle body one is bad if no sound just clean them with heavy cleaner like brake fluid really good on both of them if ur car idles up and down like 3 down to 1 everytime when the car is started or go to the junkyard and get the piece off of the 90 - 93 integra ls, gs , models .. my car did that before now i fixed it
