Default What Should i do????..Very Stiff Ride !!!!!!!

hey, ive read so much about suspension and i think there is so much more info out there. im currently running Skunk2 Coilover with KYB GR-2 struts on my 90 integra GS(4door) and the ride is really stiff. i just did the suspension and im not liking it being so stiff...should i replace both struts and coilover system or would it be ok to go with like a Eibach lower springs (pro kit) to get a better ride feel.

thanks in advance

Those are basically OEM replacements. Probably can't handle the Skunk springrates.

I'd pick up AGXs or Konis and see if that helps. If it's still too stiff, go with the Eibach springs.

Also check the ride height as the car may be low enough that you or constantly on or spiking the bump rubber which will make it ride very poorly.

one thing i just learned along the way is that the guys that did my car did it wrong...they took the bump stopper out which i read throw some articles which your suppose to cut them..also at the top they took out some rubber part....so i know i have to find those and get them place back in..my car isnt that low..my friend has integra that he just got and the ride is nice and it has a 2 inch drop..mine is no where near that....

what i said above..is that correct to say they did my suspension wrong which could be the cause for the the horrible ride...or is it just the type of shocks (KYBGR-2)?????

well what kind of setup does your friend have? real coilovers? just sleeves? lowering springs? and of course what shocks?

also what spring rates does he have. i dunno that the skunk 2 coilovers do have higher spring rates than eibach pro kit. if u go eibach youll be fine but there will be wheel gap if u dont mind. in regards to the bump stop you might be killing your shocks or maybe they are already bottomed out. the bump stop helps the rod from hitting bottom of the shock. i suggest to put them back on asap. also the gr-2 will not take those kind of spring rates. ive heard good stories when u combine the nuespeed sport springs w/ gr2. just my 2cents!
good luck bro.

OK without bumpstops and with a lowered suspension the odds are that you have bottomed out several times. This may have already blown your shocks. After you hit a dip in the pavement does the car oscillate for a while or does it just dip once? I suggest you go to a reputable shop that works on suspensions and get them to look it over and make suggestions. You are on YYZ and there are probably plenty of HT members who can make a good recommendation for a shop.

If your upper mounts are missing "some rubber piece" (#7 in my pic), you are either going to be riding REALLY harsh, or the shock piston is sliding all over the place effectively rendering the shock useless. The BARE MINIMUM of parts you should be running on each uppper mount goes like this (see pic): 18, 6, 7, 14, 9, 7, 15, 16 (cut in half). If any of those parts are missing you could be in a world of trouble.

If it was #11 they removed, then your safe, but it will make the ride much more harsh with no real perfromance gain...
