Default viper help

i'm trying to install a viper 791xv in a 2003 Mazda6, and I'm pretty much stuck. I have about 20 questions I need answered. Most of them are which wire does this mean in the instructions. Also, a lot of them include the phrase "multiplex input" and that's all it says. How do I know what wire this is supposed to go to? I do have a wiring diagram if you need it. I can post all of the questions if you like.

Thanks!

here is the link to the wiring info for the 6:

http://forum.mazda6club.com/in...st=15

1. which accessory wire is the climate control, black/white or black/red in the ignition harness?
2. where is the tachometer wire? it says ac ignition coil or coil pack, but where is that?
3. which wire is the (-) ground when armed output? (the wire is orange that goes to this)
4. remote start (-) activation input? The wire that goes from the harness is white/blue and it looks like it goes to a push button switch by the pic, but which switch is it that is comes with (there are two like this)?
5. (-) multiplex input, zone 4? blue wire, but what does it wire into?
6. (+) door trigger input? Do we have this on the 6, I know we have the (-), so do I need this at all?
7. red/white channel 2, 200mA (-) output?
8. violet/black 200mA (-) programmable channel 4 output? Is this not used until I hook it up to something I assume?
9. white/black channel 5 output? same as above
10. green starter input? I know this goes on the starter wire, but it says on the “key side”. Where would this be?
11. red (2) (+) 12v input for high current outputs? Do I just connect these to a power wire going to the red post on the battery?
12. pink/white (+) second ignition output? Do we have one? (the wiring info says n/a, so I assume just disregard this wire?)
13. red/white (+) 12v input? same as #11
14. blue/white (-) status output?
15. violet/white tachometer input?
16. green (-) multiplex input, zone 2?
17. blue (-) multiplex input, zone 2?
18. red and black: red is (+) 12v constant, black is (-) ground. it says “do not use these for anything beside the plug-in shock sensor”, so do I just hook it in with the rest of my 12 (+)s and (-)s?
19. where does the bypass module 556U wire in at?

Okay... Definitely should read your manual, because chances are, there are explanations of each and every wire you're asking about. But, since I'm a nice guy (and have nothing else to do right now), I'll help ya out.

1. Use both. One is for heat and the other is for your AC. If you power just your first accessory, you can't use your starter in the summer to cool your car.
2. Look for where your spark plug wires converge at. That's your coil.
3. Disregard
4. Disregard
5. This gets hooked up to your trunk or hoodpin.
6. Disregard + input.
7. Optional negative trigger (for power trunk, usually, and generally requires a relay, unless your power trunk release is a low current trigger)
8. Not used unless you want it to be
9. Same as above.
10. If you're hooking up starter kill, you'd cut the starter wire, and attach the green wire to the side going towards the starter, and the purple to the side going up to the key cylinder.
11. Use black and black/yellow wires in ignition harness. Don't run to battery.
12. Disregard
13. Hook to 11
14. That can go to the blue wire coming off the 556u
15. See #2
16. Used for optional sensor (proximity, etc)
17. Same as above
18. Not really sure
19. 556 needs 3 wires. 12v constant (#11) - red. Neg Status input - see #14. And ground. The wire with the ring around it gets plugged into the box, and the ring gets positioned around the key cylinder. You don't need to be concerned with keysense on this car. Your spare key goes into the box, and put the screws back in. Bury that sucker in the dash somewhere.

If you've never done a car starter before, I would HIGHLY recommend taking this car somewhere and having it professionally done. It's not an easy car (had one break my ***** for 6 hours) and I've been putting starters in for 2 years...

THANKS! Yea, I read into it a little more now that I'm not so frustrated over it and answered some of the wire questions. I looked into the whole professional thing and it was $350 labor locally or $535 at Best Buy if I bought the alarm there, but I got it online for $200, so I can try it at least twice cheaper than I can have it done. Thanks for all your help. If I have any more problems I'll post em up!

THANKS AGAIN!

One question, you said that "If you're hooking up starter kill, you'd cut the starter wire, and attach the green wire to the side going towards the starter, and the purple to the side going up to the key cylinder." I bought just the basic 791 from this website http://www.electronicsbonanza....src=y
so do I need to cut the starter wire and do as you said or do something different?

Thanks

Regardless of where you bought the starter, it should have come with a standard relay pack, off of which should come 7 wires. Should have 2 reds, 1 orange, 1 pink, 1 pink/white, 1 green and 1 purple....

If for some reason it doesn't have the purple and green, just use the starter output you do have and splice into the starter wire. Don't cut it.

If you've cut the wire, correct.
