Default exterior vehicle camera mount?? magnetic, suction cup,??? any out there

i have seen some really nice looking external camera mounts lately but i have NO idea how they are made.

i have seen some real expensive ones, but i dont feel like paying 200 bux for a mount.

boosted-hybrid had a couple awesome views in his videos(all of them)

just wondering if anyone has done any magenetic, or suction cup type deal

give me some input

I think evan the guy who does all the videos for jeff uses a suction type mount.

wow slick find, harbor freight is 5 minutes from my house too!

i think you could drill holes in the handle for different positions to mount it too, like if it were roof mounted or door mounted, all i would need to do is put a "dummy cord" lanyard on it in case something did happen!

thanks guys for the help.

i already have the gsR style mount for the head rests and a tripod ounted to the front floor board, but i wanted to get some exterior shots with exterior sound

I'm wondering how reliable this is, I paid $499 for my camera so if I'm going to mount it somewhere, i gotta know it'll stay

says it can hold up to 125 lbs, and ive played with them, and even the single suction cup ones are amazingly strong. the doubles are even stronger.

its cheap, im sure you can find another use for it if you dont like it, and then you always have the safety lanyard

But they use the harbor freight scale, so in real life that's probably about 10 pounds.

Honestly I bought one of there welding magnets that said it could hold 25 pounds, lets just say when I put my keys on the magnet it could barely hold them.

Don't get me wrong, I love harbor freight, but there is some stuff that is just to cheap and important that I would not buy from them

Tripod mounts are a universal size, so yes it should work for your camera. I would figure out a way of teathering it so that it won't come loose and fly around your car. Since your tripod mount is plastic you may want to check the tightness after each run and try not to over tighten it too.

well so far i bought the harbor freight "glass carrfier" like the one above, i stuck it to my car and left it there with a 5lbs weight on it, and it has been there for about 4 weeks! so far so good, it actually is pretty strong, AND THEY WERE ON SALE..............$2.00.oo hahaha

actually i am gonna cut it in 1/2 and mount it vertically instead of parallel to the ground, for 2 bucks i dont really care how much i cut it up!
