b16 measurments quetions

Default b16 measurments quetions

ok what is the stock bore size,of a b16
and i am rebuilding my b16 with new rings and bearings and gaskets .
i was wondering how it's going to affect my motor if i put a mr.gasket head gasket .30" size on it . what will it raise the compressoin to and how should my stock motor take It and over all what you guys think about the idea.

stock bore is 81mm and .030 is a stock 3 layer gasket

are you sure thats right when lookin to buy a head gaskit there either 82 or a 85 bore . and lookin at a chart about toda head gaskits it said :
b16
.6mm-11.6:1 compresion
.8mm-11.4:1 compresion
1.0mm-11.2:1 compresion

pretty sure of it.
everywhere ive seen it was 10.2:1 usdm and 10.4:1 jdm
if you got to the todaracing.com the c/r is based on a motor with toda racing pistons which shows it raised above stock.

stock is listed as .029, if you measure it, its more like .026, so the .030 HG should see a small drop in compression, for a USDM B16 probably closer to 10-.1:1
I like OEM honda, whenever possible.

well what kind of compresion gains would the ctr head gasket give me and were could i find it if i want to use it

the mutilayer headgasket says .029 and 2 layer .019 and the 1 layer is discontinued cause they leak too easy

you could buy an oem HG and pull the middle layer out or you could get cometic or another company to make you a custom gasket...or you could get one of the thinner HG on the market like, mugen or spoon, which are basically stock HG with middle layer pulled. You have many options.
