Is 90-93 'teg LS engine a ZC or B18? Does D16Z6 drop right into 90 CRX Si?
I remember reading it somewhere that 90-93 engine is the same as ZC engine, which is around 135HP and 108LB-FT. If it is so, then my 90 CRX Si tranny should fit right into it. I am debating which one to go which. I don't have that much money to spend on this car, approx. 1K. Therefore, I would think ZC or '92-'94 D16Z6 would be a good replacement. Oh! My stock engine is pushing 280K miles as of today. So, I know that it is not going to be with me for long.
Thanks guy for any suggestion or recommendation.

yhe 90-93 teg motor is a B series, not a D series. your 90 CRX Si tranny will not fit on the 90-93 teg motor.
this motor is different than a ZC. it wont bolt right into an EF.

90-93 teg motor is NOT a ZC, its a B18A1.
D series stuff and B series stuff is NOT compatible. meaning a B series motor will NOT work with a D series tranny and vise versa.
a D16Z6 or ZC motor will work with your 90 SI tranny.
a D16A1 motor from a 1st gen teg will work with your 90 SI tranny.

the 86-89 teg had a motor similar to the ZC with different mounts thats prolly the one you are talkin about...
ls is b-series, zc and the 86-89 tegs are d-series, this refers to the block coding, example: d16a6=sohc 88-91 civic or crx SI motor, anyways id go with the sohc vtec because there are more parts for it than the zc has readily available, and vtec even though only a single cam vtec is still cool!!!!
peace

Thanks guy. Then going 92-95 EX would be a good idea, right? Since my car does not have AC/PS, 125-130HP would suffice.
