Default CB radio wiring

i have a CB radio that i recently installed in my accord. i just connected both wires to the corresponding battery terminals, but i want to wire it so that it turns on and off with the ignition switch so i don't accidentally kill my battery when i forget to switch off the radio after i turn off the car. how can i do this?

what kind of car is it? all you have to do is snag accessory from your ingnition harness by your steering column under the drivers side dash... really easy... if you post the car year and model, i can tell you what color wire it is.

You can use the yellow wire in the ignition harness on that car.

thanks. i assume this is the underhood fuse box and not the one at the driver's feet. how do i wire the radio to it? do i just ground one wire and put the other to the box? if so, which goies where? by the way, there is a fuse holder built into the wiring, so there is no need for a fuse to be wired up.

at the risk of sounding utterly retarded, how exactly do I wire the CB's power wire into the fuse box? (instruct me as you would instruct a child)

Now what you do son, is you run the wire over to the fuse box, and you "crimp" a fully insulated female flat spade connecter to the wire and plug it in.
The connecter is the same one as you would use on a speaker, the wide one, normaly the same on subs, but will be the pos. (+) on most speakers

When wiring CB's, I like to avoid the noisy fuse boxes. Of course I don't run legal power with mine either.

so to avoid the fuse box, how would i go about wiring it up? remember, i need to be spoken to in extremely detailed terms, as i have very little experience with automotive electrical systems.

I say just wire it to the battery like you have it. Most of the people I know with them wire them like that and leave them on a fair amount of the time and don't really seem to have problems with it. I would just turn it off. If not I would find a wire that has power when the car is on but doesn't when it's off. Any pics of the setup in your Accord? I have a CB on one of my truck but can't imagine and antenna on an Accord.
