Ok i recently bought a 90 crx dx. The guy that i bought it from thought the timing belt blew and it sat for 2 yrs then he decided to sell it for 250 bucks. The car is in great shape body wise he even put an aftermarket moonroof in. Ok so everything was goin fine the a friend of mine and i started to go and work on the motor and teh timing belt is still intact. Hmmmm ok so we take of the valve cover and he goes to turn the crank and i notice the camshaft on one side wasnt moving. WTF HE BROKE THE CAM!!!!! hmmmm oh well time to do a motor swap my friend has a dohc zc for me anyway

Hey 2005, no it's not. 12 doors down.
At least you're not complaining too much. What can a person expect for $250? I'll take a rolling chassis for $250.

I believe it, I have seen three broken cam shafts in a couple of years.
1-Acura Vigor...........Lack of oil changes
2-1989 Civic wagon...Lack of oil changes
3-90 Civic................Lack of oil changes
see the pattern...

The title is somewhat missleading. Its no big deal. You can pick that cam up from any junkyard for $10, or a whole head for like $30.
Good deal on the car though.

But seeing as I'm just up near the Route 80/380 junction from you, I could probably come down and look with my own eyes!! lol! Did you buy it locally? I've only noticed one other local CRX and it was a black one that exited at the Tannersville exit. I followed it one night after reading of a black CRX that was stolen from down in southeastern PA the day or a few days before. It wasn't it. I'm sure you can get another cam from the Harry's U-Pull-it in either Allentown or Hazelton. I'm thinking of going there this Saturday morning if my wife doesn't have any thing for me to do. Lots of dead Civics to pick and choose from.

Hmm, I chipped off a part of the cam lobe about the size of my pinky due to a pin falling out of the rocker arm assembly. Locked up the engine like whoa
