Just bought Energy Susp. motor mount inserts...
The kit comes with 6 inserts and four zip tie like things. Is the install self explanitory or is there something I should know??
You should be able to find many posts in the archives, to aid in the installation process.
I'd try and explain it, but I didn't do it myself (I do however have them in my R).
There are apparently some tricks to make the job go easier, and while you're scraping knuckles and bitching and moaning (hehe), just remember/keep in mind .. It's worth it!

if i had a scanner i could scan you the sheet off the helms manual that explains how to install them. it makes installing them a snap (the front ones anyways). ive heard the rear is a pita and that you benefit the mosr from it, but then you get the most vibration from it as well.
i will chime in on this one. My friend and myself installed the Energy Suspension rear tranny mount today in my R. It took us literally 5 hours straight to get the damn bracket off, inserts slipped in and the bracket to be reinstalled. I highly reccomend that you do this particular tranny mount when the motor is already dropped. We didn't have time to do the 2 easy ones but they will be done with ease tomorrow morning. I can already tell a huge difference with just one mount in there. Vibration is annoying but i will get used to it.

I just put the 2 front ones in today on my GSR. It was pretty easy and i can already tell the difference. Now about that rear one, i might just wait till i get a new clutch for that beoch.

Jack.... what'd that take us on asspenny's car... 5 min max?
Yeah, about that...not too hard when you have the trans dropped...
However, Jack says he knows a trick to doing it even w/ nothing removed

Drop the tranny and put a clutch in while you're at it. That's what I did. The front ones are easy, the back middle one is a beatch, but you just gotta get the right angle.

the rear tranny mount is a bitch to put in while the motor or tranny is still in.. but 5 hrs??? damn.. I did it myself and i fiddled with it.. max only like 1 1/2 hr doing it. It was very hard though.. hard to get to I have to admit.
Does anybody make a motor mount insert for the driver side driver side mount right by the timing gear covoer and the tranny mount on the passenger side. ??

No, they go on the AC bracket mount and the other mount on the bottom front. Also, does anyone know where i can get urethan upper mounts? Mine is leaking something, or so Acura said, and it needs to be replaced. TIA..
Every time I see a post about motor mount inserts I get reminded about how much I need them and how beneficial they are but I've been reluctant. I guess my main question is, would the vibration they cause be acceptable for a daily driver? All I have in my R is the factory radio and speakers. I guess another way to put it: Is the vibration so bad that the factory radio and speakers become pointless because you can no longer hear them? I just don't want to install them and then have the vibration give me a headache every time I go to work, etc. Thanks for the replies.
if you are worried about a bit of vibration maybe you should buy a CL. Theres a bit of noise, the sterring wheel vibrates a bit at idle, and no wheel hop in the rain.
KF: the only vibration you get is at idle. Other than that i can't tell a difference. But yeah the vibration at idle is pretty bad. For me vibration wasn't even an issue. I had to get them for my wheel hop.

By just installing the side mounts you do avoid a lot of extra vibration and you still get the benefits of not hopping your tires all day long.
Motor Mount inserts are definitely a worthy buy for anyone that races or just uses the R as a daily driver. You can't beat it at around $25-30 for the set.
Also, I highly recommend against using the zip ties since they may eventually give way and the inserts will start to come lose. Instead go to your local hardware store and buy larger diameter fender washers that will hold the inserts in there nice and snug.

The Vibration wont give you a headache, but the panels that start vibrating loose will cause you headaches(all the annoying rattling panel sounds around you)
I installed the 2 lower mounts today after having the tranny mount put in yesterday. The vibration seemed to get better with having all of them installed. Just having the one tranny mount in gave it a bad vibration. Having all 3 of them installed there is no vibration at all at idle. You can feel the vibration when you rev the car and let the rpms fall (it will rattle a bit).

It is not worth it to have a shop install. It is very easy to do jsut might take some time for the rear mount. The other two mounts can be done in roughly 30 minutes combined.
