Default Rattle-can homage to The Cone (RIP)

Hey .RJ, thanks for the wheels. 2 hours of cleaning and I still didn't get all the brake dust off

Those stickers were the worst part though. The goof-off I usually use to take goo off, was taking off the wheel paint and making a sticky mess. A torch worked slightly better.

Anyhow, what do we have here???

Would I dare ruin these pretty TDR wheels with paint?

Yup....

This orange is HOT! My car now has... the POWER OF ORANGES!

Thanks for the inspiration, Cone.

These wheels will soon be shod with 205/50R15 Hankook Z211 (R compound).

p.s. Penpen, your wheel color choice is still safe...

-Chris

Why didn't you remove the existing coats of paint with aircraft stripper? Nice colored wheels.

'cuz that takes time.

I'll probably end up stripping this stuff someday and doing a nice paintjob on it. In the meantime, this'll be fine for track wheels! They'll just be ruined with brake dust in a few months anyway.

glad you were able to find your color in the high-temp resistant. can't say the same for me so good choice!

in future, if you want to clean them off, look for aircraft stripper.

Yeah, 1200F should do the job

I like how they turned out. It's a nice, subtle, flat orange. The edge where I masked them turned out nice too, so they're still gunmetal on the inside.

Check your PM penpen.. I think I found the paint you're looking for
