Homecoming: My 3rd EF...first CRX...idle problem?
First off, I'm Mike...and here's my 3rd EF:

90 Civic Si: d16z6, i/h/e
91 Civic Dx: cut springs/muffler... hated
91 CRX Si: Only has a short ram intake...but it's got an idle problem
The car has 98k on it, and is my first CRX
When the car is warm, and I come to a stop, the idle will drop down to ~400 rpm or so, then pop back up to ~800...
Any ideas? I couldn't find a vacuum leak, but I need to take a closer look when it's not rainy...

The front end it smacked up a little, but thanks for the compliment
Don't worry, you won't see this car getting riced out

check your throttle cable. it might be too tight. thats what my problem was. actually thats what my problem still is. it's creating a very very slight vacuum leak. it's worth a shot. it only takes like 2 minutes to tighten and loosen it anyway. good luck.
Thanks alot for the information guys!
Is there any idle control screw, or is it all electronically controlled?
I read the thread on EF-Honda, and it just talked about cleaning out everything that's associated with the idle, not necessarily adjustments...

yeah its possible it is the tps... if ur not getting a code then usually its just that u need to adjust it, not replace it.
It doesn't sound like the IACV, that is usually at a higher RPM, if it has a an idle adjuster screw I would start there. If not I wouldn't know haven't dealt with the z6 yet.
I've also noticed that the car doesn't really pull hard up past 5k or so...
I haven't driven an EF w/ a stock A6 before, does this point more towards the TPS?

crx's suck!! just playin, does the idle go up and down and up and down and up and down? or does it just go down to 400 then up to 800 and hold? u remember my problem, right? and is it gradual change in rpm or is it a sharp change?
It just drops down to ~400 and stays there. Every now and then it'll pop up...but it usually just stays around 4 or 5 hundred..

any luck fixing the beast yet?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Haven't had time to **** with it. Hopefully this week in class I'll be able to take care of it.
That's the least of my problems though. Time to look into rust repair
