Default Found the shell of my old R.

When my R was stolen, I thought alot about buying back the shell and rebuilding. At the time, it would have just been too much of a financial strain. I have tracked down the shell, and I am determined to buy her back.. now a rebuilt theft recovery. I cant wait to sit in the drivers seat of my first ITR once again. Just thought I would share my excitement.

Great news Brad! I wish I can find a cheap R so I can make a dedicated track car. Is that your plan?

Not really too much of a story in reguards to finding her. And she isnt far away at all. Just under an hour north of me. Im just excited about getting my first R back. There is alot of sentimental value, and I didnt fully realize it when I first passed up the opportunity to buy back the shell.

You're definitely lucky to find your first ITR's shell.

Good luck with the rebuild

damm i'd love to have my first itr's shell... I fought so hard to get the chance to buy it, along with my other known parts, but the insurance company were a55holes and would not let me know where the parts were going!

Nice Brad, just let me know if you need me to take #347 off your hands

For those who wanted a little more info, here it is. I recently did a car fax, which tipped me off where my shell might be. I contacted the insurance company and they said that they auctioned it off to the highest bidder, which was a salvage yard in town "X," but could not tell me the name of the salvage yard. (The X will be replaced with the location once I have officially purchased the shell) Town "X" was the town listed on the carfax with no owners reported thereafter. I thought I may as well try my luck and see if it was still there, but first I needed to find out where "there" is. So I hit up the online yellow pages. There were dozens of places. One by one I called them, each time explaining everything above. I got a hold of a place that gave me some hope. The man I spoke with said "If me or one of my buddies got a hold of that shell, we would keep it to rebuild it. You should try [friends salvage yard]. I called the place up, and sure enough they had a 2000 Integra Type-R shell. After a VIN check it was confirmed that it was indeed the shell of my first R. The owner has done some work to rebuild the caR, but is willing to sell for what he defined as "the right price." Pics and info will come as they become available.
