Default 1994 Honda Civic-what to look for?

I am going to look at a 1994 Honda Civic Sedan. All I know about it is a 5 speed, grey with 137k miles. I know nothing else.

What I am wondering is some things to check or look for? I've never owned a Honda, so I don't know what are the things that might be a problem.

Also, are these cars, in particular the engines, transmission and clutches pretty reliable and durable?

thanks

look for rust and duh d00d its a honduh of course its reliable. look for welds in the engine bay or miscolored paint that could be from an accident. engine light and if u can do a compression check, that will tell u a lot about the motor and also start the car and listen to it

got one of those me self,
check for rust in the rear wheel-well for rust (honda cancer)
the rest is the usual stuff..
...since ur here, ill assume u wanna do some work/mods to it for kicks, lemme tell u, these car stock are slow.
if u wanna go fast, think light..AC and other goodies slow the car down..so find out wat trim u got Lx got power everything.. EX got wat LX got but sunroof, vtech motor,(128 HP compared to 109hp from the LX trim)

Motors for these cars (honda) are everywhere, and if u take care of the motor(which is pretty simple), them suckers could hit 100,000+ easy, the thing is finding the right person to help and researching here for the right sevice, a good idea on price range on random stuff, and wat set-up to get that would fit ur style/price..
