Im posting this for a friend so info is limited. He has a 1998 civic dx or ex, i dont know, with 120,000 miles. One day, his speedometer stopped working, well it worked but up to 20, then it hoverd around 20, it wasnt liek it stopped right at 20 and didnt move, it liek hovered, it was wierd. Now he says it hovers around 5. ne sughestions, im a nub but i kno theres plenty of u guys out there that kno about clusters. O, and everythign else on the cluster works.

ps- he has subs, dont know if those would shake something loose or soemthing, just putting it out there.

pps- i searched and maybe im a bad searcher, but i found nothin...plz help. thnk u.

Sometimes I have a problem where I'll hit the gas and right around when vtec kicks in my speedometer goes ******* crazy back and forth, then when I switch gears it's fine up until right around redline. It's like a personalized rev limiter for my speedo

ok, thnx guys, i foudn some good stuff on it, but one thing i didnt find, im a lil to lazy to do a in depth search, but, does teh 1998 honda civic ex or dx, is it electric or cable for teh speed sensor thing?
